Rhagodia candolleana

Rhagodia candolleana

Rhagodia candolleana – The Seaberry Saltbush is an edible species from the Chenopodiaceae/Goosefoot family and has a distribution on the south and south eastern sea-spray coasts of Australia. Photographed today in the Carlton River carpark Tasmania, these magenta-colored berries are edible and packed with color. The berries have a bitter taste so my partner blends them up with sugar to make a bright pink sauce, it is crazy to see this color representing Tasmanian nature.
