Bulbine bulbosa

Bulbine bulbosa/Golden Bulbine Lily is an edible species from the Liliaceae family with a distribution in the dry sclerophyll forests of Tasmania and some mainland states. The green peas are edible with a lasting, tasty, leek flavor and we regularly add the peas to our stir fries, cous cous and potato salad. Today the bulbine peas were freshly picked from my garden and added as a garnish on our lemon-butter salmon meal, yesterday the Atlantic Salmon was caught fresh by my neighbor having escaped from a local salmon farm!
