Banksia marginata/Honeysuckle is an edible species from the Proteaceae/Protea family and has a common distribution in south-eastern Australia. The nectar in the flower is edible and we soak flowers from our garden in warm water for a sweet nectar drink. Sometimes we add kumquat to the drink for a zesty punch. The pollen is also edible and usually consumed as honey, we thank the bees for that!
