Apium insulare/Island Sea-Celery is an edible species from the Apiaceae/Celery family, with a distribution in Tasmania on the islands of Bass Straight and photographed today in my garden. The leaves, stems and seeds are edible and have a sharp celery-like flavor. We enjoy eating the leaves and stems fresh in salads and as a garnish or cooked in stewed dishes. We press the dry seeds and add them to a range of cooked meals.
