Myoporum insulare is an edible Tasmanian plant species that is also known as Native Juniper, Island Boobialla and Blueberry Tree. This species is from the Myoporaceae/Boobialla family and has a distribution on coastal dunes, rockeries and cliffs and is photographed here on a shoreline of the Tasman Penninsula. The Myoporum genus is generally known to contain toxins, so we take this assumption by consuming the berries in small quantities and by not feeding to livestock and pets. The smooth blue berries are edible with a bitter floral flavour and aromatic botanicals, we enjoy the berries when made into jam and preserves or dried for future flavouring. Our friend is drying some berries to help flavour his next lot of gin, yum yum!

Yimarra Farm looks great, perhaps you could source edible flowers from nature for your fresh and crystallised treats. The public forests south of Glengarry to Rosevale would host native species with edible flowers, these forests are managed by Sustainable Timber Tasmania and commercial permits to take native flora are a possibility.
Maybe we could visit your farm during our holiday in August and then also explore the forest around Mitchelsons Road, Turkey Farm Road and Four Springs Road, for edible flowers?
